Car leasing FAQs

What happens if I ignore a PCN?

The Protection of Freedoms Act gives private parking companies power to pursue the registered keeper of a vehicle for payment. If a driver doesn’t comply with the terms and conditions set in place by a private parking company, then they’re responsible for any penalty charge notice (PCN).

If you want to contest a PCN, you should appeal to the private parking company as detailed in the instructions on the PCN.

You'll also need to advise the lease funder of the appeal, you’ll need to let them know your car registration and the PCN number.

Any costs incurred by your funder for private parking charges will be passed onto the driver, and there may be an admin fee from the funder as well.
