Car leasing FAQs

What do I do if I receive a fine?

If you receive a fine or penalty charge notice (PCN), this means that your lease funder has transferred liability to you as the driver or customer in possession of the vehicle at the time the offence was committed.

If you believe the fine or PCN was fair, then you should pay it and the notice will tell you how.

Or if you have grounds for appeal, you'll need to contact the authority who issued the notice.

There are some PCNs where legislation says the registered keeper – the finance company – must pay the PCN. Examples include a Congestion Charge PCN and some bus lane fines.

If you receive an invoice for a fine or PCN that’s been paid already by the lease funder, there may be an additional admin fee.
